Zach Callison:

Q. What do you find inspiration in?

A. My parents. They help me when I am down and they always have a bit of wisdom in every situation.

Q. What or who is driving your passion for life, work designing?

A. Once again, my parents. They encourage me in my acting and music. They inspire me when I lose sight of things.

Q. What would you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?

A. I have been extremely fortunate and blessed to be able to do what I love in the entertainment business. I guess my greatest accomplishment would be staying busy as a working actor and fulfilling my dreams.

Q. What are your favorite “Green” products/services?

A. Rev 7 Gum!! It is environmentally friendly and it is more biodegradable than regular gum. It can also be easily removed from surfaces, making it easy to clean up.

Q. What are your favorite ways to display/utilize your “green” living?

A. I try to be consistent in the small things. For example, turning off the lights when I leave a room or turning off the water when I brush my teeth. It’s unbelievable how many people forget to do this when it’s just not environmentally friendly, it can save a lot of money on their water and power bills.

Q. What are some eco/green projects or charities that you’re working on at this time?

A. I strongly support the Sea Shepherds, which is an organization that dedicates itself to preserving endangered ocean species. The Discovery Channel show, Whale Wars, is based on Sea Shepherd’s annual campaign in the Southern Ocean to stop Japanese Whaling vessels from breaking international whaling laws. The human race is the catalyst for whether our earth survives. We can make changes to ensure its future health or ignore the signs of illness and watch it die. It’s up to us. I recently participated in recording a song and music video called “If the Earth Could Speak” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anHUYUrFkL8). While the song talks about helping the suffering children around the world, I think if the earth could speak, it would ask us to help it survive!

Janine Jordan:

Q. What do you find inspiration in?

Life itself. It’s such a beautiful process … this ever changing cycle of life. I just love life.

Q. What or who is driving your passion for life, work, designing?

My driving force is that I want to protect the beauty of life. I know we can as a species still thrive but go about life in a much smarter way that will not detract from the beauty of all life’s processes. I am driven by knowing we can do better and that we should, for every being on this planet’s sake.

Janine Jordan (EMA co-founder) and DJ EVA, (EMA DJ)

Q. What would you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?

Wow, I don’t know … I’m really proud of my newest project, The Electronic Music Alliance. It’s a project under my non-profit, Green Wave and I feel like it will have a lot of support. It’s really taken off just in the few weeks that we have launched it. It’s a collective effort to organize and think about what we’re doing in this world …that’s really what the green movement is about to me -a holistic mindfulness of what are we doing, and what can we do better. kinder, and more healthful for all.

Q. What are your favorite “Green” products/services?

I like Vinegar and essential oils 🙂 I would have to say I love the Pacifica organic soy solid perfumes. They look like a pot of lip gloss but because they are solid, I can take them anywhere, and never worry liquid limitations on flights. I really like the Threads for Thought line of clothing, Ban T Shirts, Sanuks sandals, Tom’s shoes, the BareSoles shoe line, Dr. Bronner for many reasons, Peacekeeper Cosmetics for nail polish, and Jane Iredale Cosmetics.

Monica Salazar (Green Wave Ambassador) and Janine Jordan (Green Wave Founder)

Q. What are your favorite ways to display/utilize your “green” living?

I do it through shopping habits on food. I use reusable bags. I try to dress in eco-friendly fashions. I like to write and tell the world what I’m up to. I think it sets a good example. And of course, I like to sport my “Beerings”, eco-friendly upcycled bottle cap earrings I make to raise money for my charity.

Q. What are some eco/green projects or charities that you’re working on at this time?

For Green Wave, we have an eco-scholarship program in Costa Rica for under privileged kids. We are putting them in uniforms so they can go to school and help us save sea turtles by doing volunteer beach patrols. As I mentioned earlier, we also have our newest Electronic Music Alliance. We have a beautiful manifesto we put together. For more information, please check out our site: www.EMA-global.org

Aura Imbarus, PhD
www.auraimbarus.com

Author of “Out of the Transylvania Night”
Pre-ordering available at Barnes&Noble and Amazon
www.auraimbarus.com/books/index.htm

Q. What do you find inspiration in?

Inspiration comes from life, from the things we see, touch, smell, from the memories of our past. People and places are the sources of my muse. The more curios I am, the more I discover and write about. My last impressions have been gathered in my memoir called “Out of the Transylvania Night.”

Q. What or who is driving your passion for life, work, designing?

My inner spirit and the roots of my amazing family are driving my passion for creation. All the things they invested in me while growing up, the need to seek and discover, the burning desire to scribble, and the want to better myself with each and every occasion life has been giving me. My ancestors and my amazing, unique Transylvania have been outlining my forceful fervor to leave prints in the sands of life.

Q. What would you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?

Being myself and accepting that there are things in life that cannot be changed. The passing of my mother due to cancer has shed a new light on the meaning of life and on what I should accomplish and struggle for in order to find happiness.

Q. What are your favorite “Green” products/services?

I love Mario Badescu’s natural products. I am a huge fan of his bee pollen cream and the ginseng cream.

Q. What are your favorite ways to display/utilize your “green” living?

We are here to protect nature and ourselves, for we are intertwined. The more we destroy this planet, the more we destroy our own inner life. Creating an eco-friendly environment in my house, where plants and animals roam and cohabit beautifully is like pretty much discovering the Zen moment in my living, while balance has the ultimate say.

Q. What are some eco/green projects or charities that you’re working on at this time?

A great idea would be replacing our cars’ fuel with the sugar cane extracts, copying Brazil in its methods of protecting the environment. Brazil is considered to have the world’s first sustainable biofuels economy; it is also the biofuel industry leader for other countries, and its sugarcane ethanol is “the most successful alternative to date.”

Q. What do you find inspiration in?
My greatest inspiration is my wonderful husband and 6 beautiful children. They both inspire me and motivate me to be the best I can be in all that I do.

Q. What or who is driving your passion for life, work, designing?
Honestly, my driving passion is to bring glory to God in all that I do. All of life’s decisions are based on and filtered through the Word of God and the principles therein. God has given me an abundance of blessings in my husband and children and the world that we are privileged to live in, and it drives me to want to be a good steward of all that I have been given, by making wise choices that will not only benefit our immediate family, but also the generations to come.

Q. What would you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?
Though it is a work in progress, I would have to say my greatest accomplishment would be to pass along to my children, the importance of being wise stewards of all that we have been given, including, but not exclusive to, taking care of our bodies, our families, our homes, and our world. As “naturalists” at heart, we feel that God has given all that we need to live healthy and productive lives. We just need to apply ourselves to the discipline of looking outside of the “chemical~filled box” for those things which lead to truly healthy living. We are thankful for the opportunity to raise the next generation with those principles in the background of each decision they make.

Q. What are your favorite “Green” products/services?
One of my all~the~time favorites is the Norwex Cleaning products. As we desire to have clean homes, it is so easy to get caught up in the many cleaning products on the shelf, and in an effort for a good thing, we end up polluting our homes and lives with the very things that will likely be our death. Norwex is a fantastic way to start the cleansing process of the many chemicals that we take in. Not only are they safe and natural, but often even SUPERIOR to what you will find on the “science lab shelves” of your local Wal~mart in their performance. Beyond Norwex, I appreciate the many Organic Food options, organic baby and children products, and Natural Pure Cosmetics, of course!

Q. What are your favorite ways to display/utilize your “green” living?
My favorite way to display “green” living is through the health of our large family! It is no small miracle to have a healthy family of our size, as simply the number of people increases the “chances” for sickness to appear and spread. However, when our bodies are not burdened down with the toxins and chemicals that frequent mainstream food choices, cleaning products, personal care products and the like, our immune systems will be strong enough to take on the many bacterial and viral sicknesses that are as common as a cold to most people. We believe that health itself is our greatest marketing tool for the natural, green choices that we make.

Q. What are some eco/green projects or charities that you’re working on at this time?
We are proud to be able to work with the Green Is Glamorous Event, as that particular event is a 2 for 1 Event for us and we proudly support both causes. The showcasing of “green” living and products, obviously strikes a cord with us as we believe for all of the above stated reasons, that it is our responsibility to be wise stewards of our bodies, our world, our families, our lives. Also, particularly be able to support the Toys For Tots campaign is a great honor for us, as children are the heartbeat of our company. What a blessing to be able to support a cause that brings so much hope, happiness and joy to a child’s life.

Q. What do you find inspiration in?

I am inspired by my own children, and by my faith. We all have a story of how we got to where we are today. Some of us surpassed all odds to be where we are. I hope that in my hard work, dedication, and my view on life, that I have passed on to my four daughters that they are strong women, who can accomplish anything they put their mind to. They need to never fear but believe and have faith, because life is an adventure of what we make it.

Q. What or who is driving your passion for life, work, designing?

My passion for my life is my family and my faith. I believe we have to have a foundation on which we are built, and mine is my faith. I firmly believe that I can handle anything that can come my way. I am the person that beat the odds, so I continue to drive forth, to overcome obstacles that come my way.

Q. What would you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?

My greatest accomplishment is my family. Without my family, I would not be who I am today. I am so grateful for them on so many levels, and it’s their love, and belief in me that keeps me on top.

Q. What are your favorite “Green” products/services?

I don’t know if I have a particular favorite – i think it’s incredible to see where we’ve grown in the last 5 yrs, and continue to grow!

Q. What are your favorite ways to display/utilize your “green” living?

I don’t know how I really display my green living but I do my best to contribute to living healthy, and not contributing to the downfall of our environment.

Q. What are some eco/green projects or charities that you’re working on at this time?

Q. What do you find inspiration in?
R. I find inspiration in nature and my love of fragrance. These are two things that play a large role in my life, and ultimately my business. If I am struggling with some aspect of my business I will take a walk in the park literally smell the roses. For example, I was confused on what scent to offer for our mothers day collection. One day while walking through the park with my boyfriend the wind picked up the sweet scent of Gardenia. I followed the scent until I found a large bush of Gardenia flowers. I stood there inhaling the fragrance for a full five minutes. Instantly upon smelling the flowers I knew what scent I would offer for our mothers day collection, Gardenia. Guess what? Our mothers day gift boxes sold out! I can literally smell a fragrance and it will spark an idea. For as far back as I can remember fragrance has always been a huge part of my life. I can remember as a child spending hours sniffing my way through my godmothers fragrance bar. I would blend fragrances on my wrist, and sniff the area all day. Fragrance has the ability to make anyone feel free, sexy, nostalgic, idealistic, and so much more. Fragrance is everywhere. Sometimes you just have to stop to smell the roses. Nature is our very own fragrance bar. I love it!!

Q. What or who is driving your passion for life, work, designing?
R. Over 5 years ago I was diagnosed with an auto-immune disorder called Psoriasis. While dealing with this disease I have come to realize that stress was a direct correlation with my flare ups. I also realized that my flare ups steamed from on the job stress. I felt like I was slaving away in someone else’s business, often times having to deal with a tyrant has a boss, and I ultimately I was not satisfied. I decided to seek out my purpose. I am confident that I have found it with my business. So, the question who is driving my passion for life? I would have to say, me! I love me more than anyone else in the world, and in order to help others I have to be the best me.

Q. What would you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?
R. My greatest accomplishment has been creating products that has helped people, and that they absolutely love. I feel accomplished when my customers tell me how one of my products have helped them. Even if I don’t have all the riches in the world, the fact that I helped just one person makes me feel like I have accomplished what I set out to do. My second greatest accomplishment would have to been winning The Business Plan Competition. It made me feel great that people think my business and ideas are just as great as I think they are.

Q. What are your favorite “Green” products/services?
R. My favorite green products soy candles made with an eco-cotton wick. I am also a fan of Bliss Body Butter that I sell on my website. Its my all time favorite!

Q. What are your favorite ways to display/utilize your “green” living?
R. I don’t know if I display my green living. I just try to live as eco-friendly as possible. This is something that means a lot to me, so its only natural my business would be eco-friendly as well.

Q. What are some eco/green projects or charities that you’re working on at this time?
R. I am working on having completely “green” packaging. Our bottles are made from recyclable PET plastic, but our labels are not green. In the next year Urban Beauty Organics/Blended Hairitage plans to have a completely “green” product down to the label. This is very important to me.

Q. What do you find inspiration in?

My relationship with my inspiration has evolved a fair amount over the course of my life. The source of my inspiration is still basically the same as when I was a little girl, but as an adult I now feel that it comes from a much deeper place that is rooted in balance, stillness and acceptance. My inspiration has always come from watching joy, peace and health manifest itself in the world in one form or another.

As a little girl, I was almost incurably idealistic. I wanted to find a way to create Utopia on Earth for all people, all creatures and all things. I felt that if I could see that fantasy being possible in my mind, there must surely be a way to help create it in reality, if I just tried hard enough and loved my world strongly enough. I sent so much of my energy outward by thinking up businesses, projects and plans that could help educate, validate and heal anyone who was searching to create a happier, healthier life.

In quite a number of ways, I was very successful at touching people’s lives in unique ways through social work, organic foods, green building, media development and eventually fashion design. But along the way, I discovered that the super-human level of drive and determination that it took to accomplish all of that for other people – even though it was my greatest dream to manifest more beauty in the world – left me feeling more drained and depleted than words could describe.

I had a very important lesson to learn. Although the world needs bravery and imagination to connect us to our ultimate destiny of creating a safe, abundant, loving and cooperative planet, the path to getting there isn’t really about destroying yourself in the process. Over the last few years, I’ve had the privilege and challenge of learning how to just be gentle and considerate of myself. I’ve had to understand the purpose and potential of my inspiration from a new perspective.

My greatest joy still comes from seeing people and communities around me thrive in an atmosphere of peace, simplicity and sweetness, but now I’m very clear about how not to sacrifice my own experience of these qualities while I find creative ways to express my acts of inspiration.

Q. What or who is driving your passion for life, work, designing?

Now that I finally have my priorities straight when it comes to responsibly nurturing my inspiration and productively sharing my passion, what drives me is my desire to stay balanced and happy. You can’t fake those things. Believe me, I’ve tried.

Even when I was running myself ragged travelling the country, managing multiple companies in multiple states, all while raising two beautiful kids as a fearless single mom, I would show up for meetings with a bright smile on my face and sharp mind ready to make deals happen. The problem, though, was that even though I appeared lucid and energetic, I was borrowing against my own internal reserves and amassing a huge debt of emotional, physical and spiritual exhaustion.

So, even though I may have been fooling a few people in the process of pouring myself and my passion into my projects, my smile was truly only skin deep, at that point. My intentions were always in the right place, but I was energetically bankrupt. Without an ability to stand on a rock-solid foundation of personal self-care and a centered sense of well-being, I likely lost more than a few deals along the way.

Today, having listened to the airline attendants advice by placing the oxygen mask over my own nose and mouth before I reach out to help others do the same, I have an entirely different experience of “drive” and “passion”. It’s a far quieter and simpler experience of listening to my intuition about when the right moment is to strike. I still love the “art of the deal” and putting grand master plans into place, but I trust the gentle flow and natural timing of these things taking place now.

I know that I’m not the only person in the world who has come up with some good ideas, so I suppose that what drives me these days is just being a part of the whole. I enjoy the process now of meeting the right people at the right time and having the right intuitions at the right moments. I’ve seen how people who are extremely successful often have this more laid back type of attitude. It’s more of an attitude of not getting in your own way and deciding that cruise control is probably the smarter gear to be in anyway.

Q. What would you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?

I’ll admit that I’ve done some reasonably interesting things in my life, so far. In the course of five years, starting at the age of 25, I taught myself the trade of home design and construction and independently found a way to finance and build 17 homes ranging from 600 square feet to 5,400 square feet. They were constructed using the most advanced green techniques and non-toxic materials on the market. The reputation for building excellence and green design that I received during this short time was good enough to attract the attention of Hollywood producers and land my homes in magazine spreads and on television shows.

At the same time that I was managing my real estate development company, I tenaciously took on the mission of forging relationships with some of the most powerful players in Hollywood. Over the course of several years, flying back and forth between states and companies, I effectively built a dream team of agents, managers and production companies who backed a massive branding program that I had created. My green brand was designed to produce television programming and package product merchandising in a way which made all-things-green easy, accessible and entertaining for mainstream audiences.

Then, after launching a number of these initiatives under my green brand umbrella, I focused my energies on creating a luxury brand of green jewelry with my name on it. My intention with Rebekah Green Jewelry was to elevate the status, awareness and market perception of sustainable fashion. I’ve enjoyed doing this for several years now, and relocated my family to Los Angeles from New Mexico in the process. My manufacturing takes place out of downtown LA, and I’m able to keep my finger on every aspect of my fair trade, recycled gold, charity-benefiting design company.

Out of all of that green busy-ness, though, I truly have to say that what I am most proud of in all of my accomplishments is the fact that I have been successful in my attempt to raise well-rounded, responsible, thoughtful and loving children, in spite of the many years I spent working so incredibly hard when they were so young. My devotion and attention to my children has never wavered, and now that they are 8 and 10 years old, I can see my hard work paying off.

My greatest dream for them was to educate and support them in such a way that they would become conscious and productive citizens of the planet from as early of an age as possible. I now have the privilege if witnessing their strong, loving character as they continue to grow even more into themselves.

Q. What are your favorite “Green” products/services?

At risk of sounding shamelessly self-promotional, I truly do love my line of 14K gold earrings made with recycled gold and fair trade gemstones. I honestly wear them every single day, and I’ve never felt better wearing anything else. Other than that, I live a very simple life and make sure that when I buy something, I completely love it so that I can get tons of use out of it. I think that whether something is 100% eco-friendly or even just 25% so, buying less STUFF overall, is the absolute greenest thing that we can do as a culture here in America.

I am all for enjoying your life and taking great care of yourself, and sometimes that means buying something just to say I love you to yourself. If you buy things with consciousness and get a lot of use out of them and if you simply go organic whenever you can in your diet, I think you can count yourself in as a lead player in this green revolution. I have great appreciation for everything that I own, and I prefer to spend my money on memories and experiences that don’t tend to leave “stuff” in their wake.

Q. What are your favorite ways to display/utilize your “green” living?

Hmmm, interesting question. I would say that I’m not too big on “displaying” my brand of green living. I think that green has come so far that it’s now all around us and we don’t even know it. Part of our power usage probably comes from wind. Many of our clothes may already be made with organic cotton and we hadn’t realized it. And things like my sustainable jewelry line is very green, but no one would ever know unless I explained what green steps I was taking behind the scenes.

Green is everywhere now, thank goodness, and soon enough there will be no other option. Being responsible consumers and manufactures will be par for the course and we will expect no less from ourselves as a society. So, the best way that I could say that I “utilize” my green lifestyle is in the fact that I feel really healthy. I feel informed, and I can then share that information with my children, my friends and my customers to help them live fuller and healthier lives. And that brings us back to your first question: my inspiration. I’m just inspired feeling strong and happy and helping others feel the same way in a green scenario that works for them.

Q. What are some eco/green projects or charities that you’re working on at this time?

At this time, the charities that I’ve partnered with are Global Green USA, Heifer International and Charity: Water. I donate 5% of my green jewelry profits to these organizations. I’ve studied their work for years, and I feel that the charity support that they provide is extremely well-rounded, forward thinking and gutsy. Another thing that I love about these three groups is that their marketing strategies are brilliant. I have a particular love for great marketing strategies, and I believe that these three charities each have great campaigns which make the process of donation engaging and fun for their donors. I feel that the tone and essence of their brands matches very well with my company. So, when I refer customers over there, I feel confident that they’ll have as much fun learning about amazing charity work on their websites as they do shopping on my website.

I also attempt to support as many charity events as possible with my attendance and engagement. This Saturday, for example, I will be taking my children to an event designed to raise awareness about educating young women around the world in order to decrease teen pregnancy rates and increase global education rates. I love that so many people are doing everything they can to do good in the world, and I’ll continue doing my part too!

Joel Evan Interview:

Q. What do you find inspiration in?

I’m inspired by moments of silence. Living here in Los Angeles, it’s very rare to experience moments when things are completely silent. It’s as if people are afraid to simply stop whatever it is they’re doing and do absolutely nothing. I live for such moments. When I can lie down and close my eyes to experience that silence, nothing more than the sound of my breathing, I can see so many things I couldn’t see otherwise. Silence really is the perfect give we can give ourselves.

Q. What or who is driving your passion for life, work, performing?

I’m driven by the idea that there are no limits. The idea that there is a possibility that I can get better and better at everything I do, everything I am, mentally, physically, spiritually is what makes me want to keep going.

Q. What would you consider your greatest accomplishment so far?

When I decided I was ready to stop my anti-anxiety medication was an amazing experience for me. I was told by doctors for years that I my brain did not produce enough serotonin and because of that I would have to be on some sort of anti-depressant medication for the rest of my life. For most of my life on medication, I was only able to really feel either depressed or content. There weren’t really any other emotions I could feel. I decided based on some advice I received from my therapist I had to risk not taking medicine. I had to see if I could survive without it, even more so what could I possibly experience without it. The months I spent weaning off my medication were the most physically and mentally uncomfortable months of my life. However, once the side effects of lacking the substance in my system wore off, I had never felt so relieved and relaxed.

Q. What are your favorite “Green” products/services?

I love all the products by “Kiss My Face.” My favorite is their “Peaches and Cream moisturizer”. I use it on my face and body both in the morning and at night. It’s one of the few lotions I’ve found that doesn’t clog my pores and still moisturizes my skin. Their shaving lotion is also in my opinion the best out there. I refuse to shave with any other brand of shaving lotion. I’m a big tea drinker as well, and my favorite brand isis soothing, the herbs are energizing, and Guyaki’s profits go towards rainforest preservation. “Guyaki’s” Yerba Matte. The taste

Q. What are your favorite ways to display/utilize your “green” living?

I make sure to unplug things that require an ac adapter when I’m not using them. It’s something I just started recently doing out of curiosity. My last electric bill was about ten dollars less because of this experiment.

Q. What are some eco/green projects or charities that you’re working on at this time?

I’ve been an avid contributor to Greenpeace for several years. I am a great believer in their mission.
